Your checklist
01Describe the business first
- List the principal activities and operating locations.
- Provide proposed names and any existing registrations.
- Explain planned ownership, funding and growth needs.
Context & checks+
Explain what the business will sell or do, who its customers are and where it will operate. Include regulated activities, imports, exports and any intended employees. State whether this is a new venture, an existing operation or a change to an existing entity; the starting point affects the review.
02Map the people and premises
- Record ownership proportions and the decision makers.
- Note whether premises are owned, leased or otherwise used.
- Flag overseas participants or documents needing further review.
Context & checks+
Identify the proposed owners, partners or directors and their intended roles. Describe the registered-office and operating-premises arrangements. Begin with a document inventory and share sensitive identity records only through an agreed route. A professional should confirm the evidence and permissions required for the chosen structure.
03Confirm the route and complete checklist
- Agree the entity structure and filings within scope.
- Confirm attachments, declarations and certification responsibilities.
- Separate professional fees from government charges and other costs.
Context & checks+
Entity formation, tax registration and activity-specific licences are separate questions. Ask the relevant professional to identify what applies and who will prepare, approve and submit each filing. For Indian company incorporation, MCA publishes SPICe+ and linked-filing guidance; use the current official requirements for the actual application rather than a generic list.
04Plan the handover after filing
- Name the approver and contact for official queries.
- Retain the filing reference and final issued records.
- Confirm the next compliance tasks and their verified dates.
Context & checks+
Agree how acknowledgments, queries and final records will be delivered. Keep submitted versions and approvals together so a later question can be traced. Registration does not complete every ongoing obligation; ask for the applicable follow-up items and assign responsible owners. Approval and processing time remain subject to the relevant authority.
